dont think it is silenced tbh you would have seen packing in it, plus as i say the lambda probe would be bang in the way of any packing that would be in there
im not sure it is silenced as it looks like the lambda goes straight in to where the silencer packing would be??
get a light and look in to it and see if you can see mesh along the inner walls of it
pull the plug off and bridge it,, with ign on the lights should come on
if it is that you need a reverse light switch no need to go to renault its the same across many any motor factors should do it
yep, cams have to come out etc and belts are always changed when its taken off.
does you a favour that its leaking there really
if i had one on warrenty i'd slacken off a couple of the bolts just before the warrenty run out ;)
take it they just took the bolt out splodged some silicone on it and put it back in?
unless the "other work" was a cambelt change that makes more sence
looks like it yeah
the obvious way to find oil leaks is look at the highest point above the puddle of oil which in theory is going to be one of the cam carrier bolts
youd be better off sussing where its coming from yourself, because no doubt if it is cam carrier they will try to fob you off with...
dont just take the head off, you need to do a comression test, if no.2 is down on compression you then need to do a leak test and see where its loosing pressure through inlet exhaust or past a ring
next once you have determined that it is a valve visually check valves rockers and springs then if...
so it dosnt start now?
that rules lambda sensor out..
no use listening to guesses over the internet it needs diagnosing
unlikely to be coil to as it would normally start missfiring first
my guess is ecu wiring but again it needs looking at
its a bit difficult to sus what that is from that close up but i think thats looking at the lower inlet manifold, so the only point above that that carries oil pressure is the cam carrier or the oil seperator on top of it
my guess is cam carrier
call me immature but i cant keep a straight face when a girl makes a comment like that :rasp:
i did a gearbox job on a saxo for a girl once and half way through the job phoned her and advised that the clutch was knackered to which she replied "yeah i tend to ride it"
she sounded quite akward...
wouldnt really cut alot of ice to tell you the truth..
if i'd just bought a car and on my way home its engines internals spat themselfs out the side of the block on pure embarresment factor alone i'd have it towed back to the seller and wouldn't leave untill i had my money
only way you'd have...
right first off bin the haynes book of lies its no good to man or beast.
next, stick your head in there and visually look at the radiator, if it has a fan switch it will be obvious its on the ns lower part of the rad end cap,, big 27mm nut shape on it and a plug on it.
see if it has that,, my...
sounds like the stuff i used on my calipers called vht something or other? just a bit worried about the durability of it although its done fairly well on my calipers and they are far more exposed to the elements
yeah but they come out crap my brake calipers are done in it, its almost like dust
wondering if they do something proper.. aparently they do hammerite in spray cans?
come on you engine builders what do you lot do them in lol
oh yeah forgot to mention has to be spray cans, dont really...
thats your problem then, thats why your temp gauge is sitting so high you need to look at why the fan isnt working.
when you say you have bypassed the fan how exactly did you do this?
i cant remember on that particular car but i "think" they have a fan switch on the n/s lower half of the rad...
want to paint a 172 inlet a matt black colour,, want it obviously being in the engine bay to be quite durable to heat and what not.. so normal cellulose is out of the question
any reccomendations?
cheers
was it not knocking when you were driving it? its unheard of for something like that to happen without a good amount of prior warning
unless the sump plug fell out of something like that
could still be discs, if the hub flange wasnt cleaned properly before they were fitted the disc could be sitting on a bit of crap causing it to run un true
never say "its not so and so as ive just fitted new ones" as it normally is
