go to autodata online you can buy the belt data sheet for the car.
last time i looked though they dont list the v6 clios you have to look it up as a laguna.
online may be more up to date though.
so did i
i read on here how alot of people had struggled with them, and out of the countless wiper arms i have removed from various cars ive never had a problem just wiggling it off and have never needed a tool.
tried getting it off the back of the clio and within 10 minutes got the hump and...
if your insurance dosnt cover it, you have to buy one yourself - simple as that.
i know that tesco do windscreen cover but i think you have to specify you want it.
same as my insurer, unless you tick the box you dont get it.
theres nothing you can do im afraid mate ive tried that one i've had to wait for my renewal - the only thing i was suggested by my boss and i quote was
"set fire to the french peice of sh*t"
Ok, thats all well and good and i understand all the laws etc that mr omex has explained - but who is the enforcer of this law? if its not mot, etc.
would the car fail an sva test with a self build ecu?
fair enough it being the law but if nobody is in place to enforce it its all abit useless?
cant really see how it can happen - my guess is its split the disc.
even if the bearing collapses completely it would take some doing to actually get the inner track through the outer race.. and the bearing cant pull out of the disc that way as the circlips on the other end.
if its hit that hard...
thanks, i think the first lighter one looks fantastic!
i did lay a white compomotive mo wheel up against it, wasnt sold on white to be honest.
me thinks i'll be on the phone to spit and polish
cheers
the cars going back in the bodyshop soon to have a scratch done on the passenger door where some little scrote keyed it.. was considering colour coding but im in two minds i think the black breaks it up would look quite plain if all white imo.
getting the wheels refurbed before i get new tyres put on - do you think black would look good? im thinking satin.
dont suppose somebody could potatoshop them on there for me?
spent my entire existance trying to get the pattern part wing to fit aswell on the n/s, think ive got it pretty good now...
im in the same boat..
repairable - no
new one - you'll need to sell the car to afford it.
im waiting for my insurance renewal and im taking out windscreen cover ;)
nope dead easy, all i will say is though if you try to be too careful with it you'll never get it off- you will see what i mean when you are imfront of it :)
all you need to do, is pull the door card off, locate the wire leading to the central locking motor,, and use a test light to see if you get live down it when you press the lock button..
little trick for you, to save buying a test light get yourself a standard 501 bulb (capless sidelight type)...
to be honest, the only real advice is get a less christmas cracker esque socket and try harder!
as long as you are using a good single hex socket and its on properly you wont round it.
yep i would agree with that one,
as for the discs just pull one off and take it with you to the parts shop.
avoids any confusion.
also, dont be worryed about doing the brakes, if i was you just read the guide then turn the pc off and go get stuck in, once you are sitting there looking at it its...
oh sorry ive just sussed what you mean, the actual part that goes through the rubber bush pulls out and allows the exhaust to drop, yep mine did that i'll show you how i sorted it..
that aluminium mount housing thing that bolts up under the car, do you mean that part is actually hitting the exhaust bracket?
if so look at that aluminium housing where it bolts up, the holes are slotted so you can move it away.
christ that thing must me heavy to need the mount bodged up like...
can do its a quick enough test - little tip for you though,, just so you dont let the garage pull your pants down and try to sell you the headgasket job.
if the combustion test fluid comes in to contact with even a drop of antifreeze it will turn it yellow, so make sure they dont try to get you...
it is common on those at this time of year. it could have blocked breathers aswell which wont be helping matters.
but the bottom line is, if its not loosing coolant, its not the head gasket.
right well basically im not going to want this done untill the end of the bad weather anyway, but i just wondered basically if anybody does this sort of thing locally.
i've had a few panels painted etc (car is white) and i would like the rest of the paintwork sorted properly.
any idea of what...
*sometimes* you can pick up a discrepency with an injecter with a screwdriver.. put a screwdriver to each injecter and put your ear to it.. and obviously you are looking a uniform sound but you want a crisp click from each one
