yeah, i forget who are developing it but its capable of controlling air injectors, water injection, antilag, launch/traction control etc etc.
im sure something could be done with it
to be honest no, try to narrow down what this noise is actually coming from.
its quite easy to narrow down yourself- from what you are saying its an engine noise.
couple of things you can do.
does it still make this noise just sitting still revving at 1250? if so that instantly rules out...
nope, pectel make what started out as a diy mapping/monitering program for the 2wd which over the years became pretty big - they also make a modification for said ecu from the 4wd to allow live mapping.
both of which weber marreli, and of course the rs turbos run the eec iv ford management
has nobody explored the possibilities of something like weber marrelli from the 4wd cosworths etc - so much can be done with that ecu you could drive pretty much anything with it
get some of the cheap xenon lookalike halogen bulbs from ebay (the ones with the blue coating on them)
they look spot on shining through the projecter lense, i origionally had the full set in my standard lights which were better but not great, main beam just looked normal though.
but in the...
this sounds stupid, but its something you can do yourself with a socket set and some spanners.
jack the car up, get under it, and put a spanner on all the subframe, suspension mounting, engine mounting, basically every bolt you can find check its tight.
things like that can cause the sort of...
er no, the fact that most that buy them map them to 300+bhp..
and 300 brake and 4wd on any standard clutch isnt really going to last too long.
and if you have ever done a clutch on one you will see why its considered a bit of an issue :nono:
we only get the snap on man come round to where i work, dont suppose you know a number or something i could get my boss to try and arrange them to pop round?
mine does it too, i fitted mine about 6months ago and noticed it straight away was intending to do something about it. but never got round to it and to be honest its never really caused any problems so i left alone
the thing is they arent designed to be a permanent cover, its for mechanics getting in and out of cars all day in greasy overalls.
ive got 3 or 4, you get them free every so often with purchases along with things like wing covers etc..
they work fine for what they are made for.
in my opinion the only 2 things it can be are the outer cv joint or a misaligned engine/knackered mount.
go to a car park and put it on full lock both directions and drive at a slow speed, if you can hear a knocking its the cv joint, if it only happens when throwing it out id say its a mount --...
dosnt matter what cams you have, the belts are all the same..
think about it, if that were true even if it had standard cams why would you spend hours stripping down an engine to fit an inferior quality belt when you could get a better one that will save the thing snapping before its time and...
coolant system faults cant be diagnosed like this it could be a number of problems.. wont be the thermostat as the heater circuit dosn't run through it (so the heater warms up quicker)
sorry to be obvious but is there any water in the header tank?
if there isn't (or even if there is for that...
is there an oil/coolant leak on to it?
check all the pulleys it runs around and if all are ok and the belt runs true its down to being over/under tensioned.
the only thing i cant quite get my head round in this thread is the fella is talking about cams remaps etc etc purely in search of getting flames out his exhaust.
in my eyes thats a bit stupid but thats just my oppinion.
and with regards to that reply, wrc cars arent running anti lag because the...
as said the 1.2 both 8 and 16v is a peice of piss, id do the waterpump while you are there as depending wether you have aircon etc can be a bit of a mare.
change aux belt too simply because you are there
clio wise ive only driven standard ones and one with 17's on.
the one i drove was the same engine as mine (1.2)
there was a night and day difference between the two, the one with bigger wheels felt incredibly slow felt as if it didnt have the power to turn the wheels. it had a bit of a...
why didn't i think of that:rolleyes:
the cars going in to the paintshop anyway, so me repairing it just leaving it needing paint saves me the cost of a bumper.
whats the best way of going about this?
would like to do it in the least bodge way as possible.. only thing i can really think of so far is mesh behind it then build the hole up with fibreglass somehow?
any tips?
cheers
you could try getting a (i have just forgotten what they have called) im pretty sure its called a transistor you bolt it to the live on the alternator and to an earth and it suppresses the noise you get through the speakers.. they are fitted as standard to the live of the coil pack but another...
its not a problem at all,, if they can figure out how to do an engine conversion and get the thing running im sure they will figure out how to cut and join 4 wires
i know this isnt alot of help if the realy isnt being triggered but if it is get a mate to turn the wipers on and off while you feel which one is clicking
