i wouldnt be cautious- i did my cambelt, waterpump, auxbelt and clutch at 40k and 4 years old simply because i had a holiday and an oppertunity to do it.. i knew that when it actually came time for it to be done i wouldnt have time to do the work.
consumer cut out fuse- open the passenger door and look at the end of the dash, there is a little cover take that off and you are looking at the fuse box.
CAREFULLY check each fuse, the amount of people bring cars to me say theyve checked all the fuses and i find theyve missed one.
bet you...
i would say its more than likely to be the coilpack then, but the incompitent rac monkey should have detected this-- its the first thing you check when faced with any missfire wether or not you actually have a spark on all cylinders.
edde on the same sort of subject did you mention once that the assist on the electric racks can be turned up and down? i wouldnt mind mine a bit heavier.. any idea how its done?
this is the only thing i dont like about this site, nobody can say what the problem with a car is over the internet, they can tell you the possibles but it dosnt accheive anything..
so you have a miss fire, things that could cause an engine to missfire could be....
spark plugs
ht leads
coilpack...
dont get me wrong i'm not arguing with you, but is that not because that particular law about headlights being illegal if not e marked is only because that is then part of the mot test?
ie mot failure if not e marked, not nessecerily just because of the fact they arent e marked alone?
take it to powerflow and see what they can do? im a firm beleiver in you can do anything if you know how, ive got a bastardised fiesta rs turbo exhaust system on mine,, using bits from the exhausts of half the cars of dagenham to join it all together.. but short of cutting the boot floor out i...
yeah, you can get a 12 point socket thats a really tight fit and hammer it on, short of that i see you are in harlow.. if you cant find anywhere closer you can pop down to where i work (dagenham) and i will take them off for you
Re: 70% complete 172RWD!
how exactly have you gone about tying the chassis legs from the part cut from the front of the car to the chassis legs on the car?
any pic explantion would be great just purely out of curiosity
noises from dodgey waterpump bearings tend to travel through coolant pipes aswell, if for nothing other than peice of mind i would take it somewhere to get the pump checked. i think its cambelt driven on those, and if they check it and tell you its ok and it fails a week down the line, its down...
first one i did i lowered the subframe down on one side enough to lift it out, but i find it easier now just to push the box as far over to the n/s and leave it sit there and change the clutch through the gap, no need to unplug anything or remove driveshafts i just undo both bottom ball joints...
i honestly cant remember how i did mine, take the dash top off and its all quite self explanitory.
fron memory, in the iso block you have sets of 2 wires, the middle two sets are left and right front speakers consequtively..
i think they way i did mine was cut the 2 left and 2 right wires right...
it will be the abs you can feel! from those sort of speeds the tyres will be struggeling for grip on the back end due to weight transfer to the front.
go out on a quiet road and intentionally try to lock the wheels up, you will feel the same thing, the abs
yeah the srs cassete issue is the same on all cars equipped with it - its not really a problem aslong as you are aware of it.
doing a clutch on any of the clios i dont tend to take the rack down.. but whenever you are working with the steering all you do is take the key out and engage the...
yep. give all the pins on the clusters a tweak too.
the earth terminal suffers the worst from corrosion, the resulting lack of earth to the clusters mean the light you are trying to operate (the reverse lights) try to earth themself through the closest bulbs live (the fog)
this is what powers...
could be either-
oil pressure switch or
low oil pressure which could be a blocked strainer or worn pump.
you need the oil pressure checking, its telling you to stop for a reason
just from hearing that i would say its exhaust related - possibly cat..
things expand when they get hot and frees things up to vibrate.
get the car hot (stick a glove of some sort of wrap a towel round your hand) and lean under the car and give it a whack see if you can get any sort of noise out...
