Put the 182 in the garage and pulled out my nice weather car (2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 import) since it is due MOT this week. Ordered all the stuff for the fatty induction.
Sounds like you have an RS Tuner map. I have matched inlets, decat/RS192, Intake and RS Tuner 98 RON map. My car does not so much have a "kick" at 5k as the feeling of the engine slightly "freeing up". Plenty of power lower but absolutely screams in the upper RPM ranges. Do not rev your...
Changed out a leaky driver side headlamp washer...again. While the bumper was off I also replaced my damaged AC pipe, so hopefully once I get it re-gassed it works good.
So you are getting the engine done at SJM? Good to hear, he is around the corner from where I live.
My modified 182 is my daily driver. My nice weather weekend car is 350bhp of RWD imported fun.
Yeah I was unsure of the belts on my car, as the invoice had no prices or mileage listed, just the work performed. Ended up getting in contact with the guy that did the work and he is a former Renault mechanic selling Renaultsport's, so he did the job when sold, remembered my car and the car...
I just replied to your other thread. Getting a good used engine will be much much cheaper, but rebuilding it might be a good opportunity to do a nice ported or at least smoothed head, new valves, and forged internals...mmmm forged.
Why did the engine seize? I think Dan @ SJM has an engine for about £450 with new belts/dephaser, might send him a message.
Still pretty decent you can get a new engine bought and installed for about the same price as a cambelt job.
Finally got both headlamp washers in! New one was mounted on drivers side, hoses were redone and routed correctly. Gave the Clio a bath then, it was filthy from all the weather we have been having.
Sounds like the gasket is not seated into the fitting good enough then. I only had to compress mine a couple mm to get the bolt to start. Stupid question but you did remove the old buckets before putting the new ones in didn't you?
It will fail like that if the temp is not coming up all the way. If your gauge is not sitting at the dead center line replace the temp sensor and thermostat and you should be good to go.
I had trouble getting the second side bolt on, lots of pushing and swearing and I finally got it haha. I ended up using a C-clamp and compressing the spring a bit on the very edge. Its kinda tedious but it worked.
Replaced the headlamp washer pump. Now one headlamp washer works haha. Looks like the bumper is coming back off next nice day to see if there is a pinched line or something. Worst case I just "T" off the working line and use it like that.
