the R26 is anything but boring....had a 182 cupped, then drove the 197 round oulton park. Then drove the R26....Now have the R26. In respect to the revving part - I don't notice the turbo at all unless I have the window down but it sounds much beefier than my 182 ever did and it revs pretty high.
