Hi mate
I had the same issue at my last mot, inspector passed but told me to get sorted, haven't got round to it yet.
Did you find out what your problem was? Top mounts knackered?
Cheers
Cheers for the replies,
any idea of prices?
I am thinking of getting from KTEC as I am in NI and the local stealer has quoted 650 fully fitted otherwise I would be of to mike or Yozza.
Alternative places to buy the parts from would be more than welcome
I know a local mechanic who is...
Hi all
Just about to order the KTEC cambelt kit, I know I need the aux belt changed as well, this may sound stupid but does it require seperate a pulley and tensioners from the cambelt kit.
Is there anything else I need?
Cheers
cool
I have some problem with them also, just to give an example of the dealers typical professionalism, I asked them to check as the abs, as it is kicking in at very slow speeds, I explaine this and the said
Them; "that's how abs works sir, pumps the brakes on and off"
me "yeah... I...
Hi all
MOT inspector told me I needed to replace the pair :(
How much am I looking at? And is a stealers visit in order or is there anywhere else I can pick them up?
Many thanks
fraid not mate, over in NI, otherwise I would use mytyres but they add 10 quid a tyre delivery cost.
The local tyre places here can do good deals but it helps to know what I want as they always try and push some sh1t make.
Cheers
steve
60 quid sounds alright, some joker in ATS was looking 110 each for the F1's...
Might be worth a look, would love to know how the exaltos compare to F1's.
Oops
I should have said, I am finding difficulty at the minute finding F1's and I have also heard that there are two different batch, ones made in Germany which are fine and ones made in china which are apparently ditch finders. Hence the thought of trying exaltos or another type.
Cheers
Hi all,
I know this has been done many times but I would really love some input. I need to replace my rears on the 172.
Currently have F1's but I keep hearing good things about Exaltos. Has anybody experience of the both on the clio?
ANy other suggestions would be more than welcome...
Well just back from the steelers, what a bunch of arse...
Put in on the clip machine and found a fault with a sensor but could not determine which one.... Quoted 150 each for one type and 50 each for another I presume front and back.
Two proposed choices, continue to drive it for a while and...
Hi
Just a bit more info, I disconnected the abs and the clunking knocking goes away.
Anybody any ideas none of the warning lights are illuminated.
Thanks
Hi
Got a strange braking problem, when braking at very slow speed I get a knocking or clunking from the brake pedal, feels like the abs kicking in at the front??
Car has just been serviced and the brakes were fine, front pads and discs were replaced not long ago for Ferodo Ds2500 and...
Hi
I had a set of SP2000, and they were cr*p. Very poor in the wet and not much better in the dry, didn't last long either.
Also had a set of SP9000, much better not bad in the wet and have lasted pretty well. Currently have F1 which are a big step up.
If you mean me, no is the answer.
Worried that I may have fitted it wrong or it is a cv joint that's stuffed, as it only makes the noise on the drivers side when on lock.
Put the rubber doughnut thing back on again as well - The 3mm Washer clears the doughnut off the turret as seen above.
Hi sorry to bring this up again, but could someone please rest my mind.
Is this how it looks after fitting, as this is exactly how mine looks and I did not remove the...
Hope somebody can help, after looking through the entire thread, the pic. of the top cap sitting above the bodywork after fitting the washer is exactly what I have on the drivers side. This is where the knocking comes from
I did not remove the compression nut, also there was alot of wear...
After fitting the washers I still get a knock on the driver side.
Put full lock to the right ie as when the knock would occur on and had a look at the top struts, the driver side rubber is def. sitting higher than the other side, is this normal?
Cheers
