Hi guys,
Noticed that my hazard lights had come on whilst on the dual carriageway today. Couldn't get them to switch off despite hammering the button on the dash in and out. Then I noticed that they would switch off again for a few seconds or minutes and then come back on again, all totally...
Hi guys,
I'm no expert so was hoping if someone could tell me if it would be OK to fit a set of front springs despite there being what appears to be some wear/splitting of their protective casing (hopefully this photo's shows what I'm on about)...
Thanks in advance
I fitted a set of washers a while back but have just failed my MOT because of a loose suspension top mount ("Offside front MacPherson strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment" 2.5.A.1c).
The MOT guy showed me with the car jacked up and there was a lot of movement on both sides where...
I've just found some insurance documents saying its a "Compact 7895/C"

Hi,
I hope someone can quickly tell me the exact alarm and immobilser type that comes as standard on a 172 FF Mk2?
I'm getting some insurance quotes and a few places want the exact model.
Cheers.
In addition to this... today the fans worked ok but once I tried to switch the climate control off all together the fans came back on quite a high speed. The only way I could get them to stop was to go into manual mode and turn the fan right down!!!!!
I think I've got a faulty "blower" in my 172 climate control. Today I couldn't get it to blow any air out at all (hot or cold). Even when I switch "auto" off and turn the speed up to max nothing came out. Then about 20 mins into the journey it started working as expected!
I not sure but I...
I don't want the exhaust to be seen or heard (well not any louder than standard). I can't stand a droning exhaust when travellling at 70-90mph on the motorway.
Yeah I know it looks rusty but then look at the cat! Which part is most ***** and likely to go do you think?
(Thanks for the confirmation about the centre section by the way)
Hi all, I've only had my 172 a couple of weeks and want to get my exhaust sorted coz it currently has a massive magnex oval pipe hanging off the back which I'm not too fond of. I've had various conversations about ktec & gdi exhausts etc but I've decided to go OE for a number of reasons which I...
I've already phoned Renault for the prices. You can buy the back box alone for £122 inc VAT. The centre section is £190 inc VAT and it is definitely seperate.
Thanks for the advice but I have already considered the ktec and the GDI exhausts. I've heard some horror stories about the ktec's falling off & people having to have centre sections replaced continuously. Also their sound is apparenly an "aquired taste" and some people have commented they...
I'm probably just gonna replace my magnex monstrosity with a standard factory fit 172 back box. Is there anywhere (other than the stealers) that sells these on the cheap?
What is this "bad press" that you are referring to, does the Alpine bluetooth unit not work very well or something?
(I am seriously considering purchasing the X001 and the KCE-300BT bluetooth interface)
The 172 steering wheel is notoriously bad for wear. I'm lucky enough to have a wheel thats in lovely condition and I would like to keep it that way.
I will post pics once I get the car!!! and the mats are in!!!
Just managed to get on board the Just Matz group buy so will have my mats sorted soon! Thanks joshydee.
Any advice on the steering wheel cover and exhaust anyone?
Hi, thanks for the reply. So you'd recomend Renault mats - what about the group buy from http://www.justmatz.co.uk thats currently in the parts for sale section? Guessing its these mats here:
Anyone got any info on the steering wheel cover?
Also just thought of another question I meant to...
Hello,
I've just put a deposit down on a 2003 Iceburg Silver 172 FF and will be picking it up on Satuday, can't wait!!!!
Can anyone recomend a good steering wheel cover and where to get it? I want something discrete looking that will just protect the wheel without looking unusual.
Also I...
Yeah - I find that having darker wheels gives the impression the car is floating with no wheels at all!
If you fit turini's off a cup to FF do you need to put lowering spings on?
