Can anyone back this up? My clio used to allow me to set to auto and the air con would not come on unless I pressed it. Now it always comes on in auto mode. Anyone?
Right more questions...I previously had my old alpine unit wired so that when the key was withdrawn, the hu would switch off but could be switched back on my pressing the power button when the key was out. Now, with the wiring described by dink, the unit is constantly on even when I withdraw the...
Right so I tried connecting two constant lives which solves my problem. (Cheers for the help dink!) However I still don't understand. The unit clearly needs two lives to operate which seams strange. As for the increased current load. The wire on the loom supplied from alpine has a thinner red...
The loom that came with the Alpine HU is fully wired to the iso block but previous alpine looms had a seperate earthing point instead of being wired to the iso block. Surely alpine would not do this if they really meant for a separate earth and power supply to be taken from outside the oem wiring??
I already have a previous live feed direct from the battery so there is no problem using this. Which wire should be connected to the oem wiring then? The red or the yellow or are both not capable of pulling the required current?
The unit is a 4x60w HU. Does that mean to power it it without the key you require two constantly live inputs (yellow and red)? I'm unsure exactly why you should not use the oem wiring - unless you require two constant live wires.
Okay, I just tried to install a new alpine 9857R HU however I'm having problems getting the unit to work with the key out of the ignition. I have used the alpine loom and connected the yellow wire with the in line choke coil to the yellow wire on the the iso connector which connects to a +12.5v...
Okay so I'm still swayed by either. It appear that the only major differences other than glide touch are amp power, the 9855 has 4x50w and the 9857 4x 60w, and the 9855 has media expander (mx) whereas the 9857 doesn't. Does anyone rate the media expander function? Bearing in mind my front...
Okay folks, i'm planning on buying a new Alpine HU since my current Alpine one has begun to cause me problems. I've been looking at both the 9857 and 9855 units but am puzzled by the spec on both. The 9855 appears the more modern unit however the 9857 is the newer in the range and also has 4x60w...
I will post pics up tomorrow. It is just long enough to drag along the ground. I initially thought fog lights as its the same tubing that contains the wires for the fog lights as I fitted fog lights in my 1.2 clio a few years back. However there is no wire running through it.
Okay folks, I have a length of black corrugated tube hanging from the underside of the engine bay and I have no idea what it is for. The car is a 182. Doesnt seem to have any wire running through it and is hanging near the passenger fog light and comes from somewhere near the battery. Went to...
Can anyone tell me what the differences between the Alpine SWR-1022D and SWR-1042D are? I am looking for a sub for A V12 mono Alpine MRD-M605 amp. Cheers
Anyone got the details? My insurance runs out tomorrow and I can't get insurance anywhere! My original quote is with egg for £800 but elephant are doing £500 without the extras so surely it won't cost me £300 more with the extras. I tried phoning again and they have now put a block on my quote...
I agree it is an absolute con but I am going to declare it to them as I would rather pay an extra £20-50 just to be on the safe side. I need exact details of the suspension changes as all companies are refusing to give me a quote otherwise. It's driving me up the wall! Now I see why people will...
Can someone please give me the exact details of the 182 cup suspension pack i.e. lowered height, stiffness increase, camber change etc as I'm having the same old problem with insurance companies. I thought that it would be better to be safe than sorry but most cant even give me a quote as they...
Can anyone tell me what the service interval is on a 182? I think it's 12,000 and one year on the first service but not 100% sure. Can anyone confirm this for me?
Thanks
I am getting my bumper fixed under my insurance today and wondered if the 172 and 182 bumpers were exactly the same part code. The garage that im getting it repaired under said they were ordering in a 172 bumper. Anyone?
I will try and get better pics later on tonight. Its hard to show the damage but is visable when you know what to look at. The whole part of the bumper above the horizontal slots on the bumper is bowed at the right of the renault badge. You can also see the difference in the bumper position...
182_blue do you reckon I will need a new bumper then and all will be okay behind? Have you see behind the bumper from experience or something? You can see from the photos that the bumper has been pushed in as far as the headlight.
Give it half an hour Smokey. If it doesnt work after this then ill have to try some other method. Cant access the uploader on cliosport through my work internet for some reason.
Pics of the minor but annoying damage!
Doesnt look like much but hard to show bend in plastic.

All panels are okay apart from the bumper and the bonnet has a horizontal crease about an inch up from the front right in the middle. Dont know if is really just the paint that has creased as it is visable but very minimal. The bonnet shuts and opens okay but is sitting about 1/4" inch too high...
It was a guy in work so he is being pretty decent about it all. I have suggeted we both get quotes and go from there. Who is J3ned and is it new or used parts? Will post some pics up later. Im worried that ther is more damage that I cant see and really need to know what holds the bumper on. The...
