Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
Single piston brakes were ok on 1 ton cars (Valver, Williams, RS till 2005) with less than 180 hp, but on 1.200-1250 kg cars with 18"-19" wheels and 200+ hp you need bigger brakes.
That's why Megane RS and Clio RS switched to 4 pots Brembos...
The thing is a...
I'm already going for an aftermarket...twin black chrome tips, the same exhaust fits the GT/Gordini so the position will be the same. I went for the black chrome as the car is white:
They are 90mm slash cut...
This is how they look in chrome on the GT/Gordini
What do you think?
No centre...
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
The Polo GTI and A1 1.4 TFSI are available only with the DSG gearbox. Renault is pointing directly at the Polo with this (The polo happens to be one of the few hot hatches that looks good in 5 door shape...the Fiesta is even better but I wouldn't call the 1.6...
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
The things I really liked of the 197 were:
Brembos
Bulging wheel arches that made the car looks totally different from cooking clios.
Diffuser with slash cut exhaust exits
Recaros
3 doors
What I didn't like:
Not much torque
Weight over 1200kgs
Steering wheel...
Hi guys, I was wondering what you usually reccomend for these cars?
I used to own a 172 with a full exhaust system, the TCE I drive now sounds like a vacuum cleaner...
Next week it'll get a catback exhaust and I was looking for some videos to compare them to my new one.
The 1.6 GT/Gordini have...
Mmm I don't want to risk too much but coming from a 172 it's really slow so I'd like at least 130 real hp..now it seems to have like 110-120. I hope to test it on our dyno soon.
I think I'll have a full exhaust with downpipe and sports cat for free (as a development car), so basically I'll need an update of the ECU, I'll have that for 100-200 quid. I'll get a foam filter at the next service interval.
Is it worth to fit a dump valve? Are the injectors an issue?
I just bough a TCE, it's been chipped by the previous owner (by Ferraris, a well known tuner in Italy)...it seems a bit stronger than an other TCE I tested and it's on par with a Twingo with the same engine, but it's still a bit low for my taste...
I got almost 190 kph in Germany, but after 170...
Good job and a the right prices!
On this argument, do you know if any shop is able to paint the wheels in "Hyper Black" or "Dark Hyper black"?
It's the color of the stock GTR wheels and some brands use it, like Rota. I think it looks awesome.
In the end I ordered a kit of Eibach pro-kit, for € 155 is was worth a try...if I can't buy Bilsteins I won't fit coilovers.
With the RS wheels +winter tyres (ordered, Hankook Icebear W300, very cheap) and the springs it'll look like this:
Is it a 1.2 or is it a sport? Just kidding...it's a mk1? I think the 16" 5 spokes wheels of the RS ph2 looks very good on non sport, with some lowering.
At the moment I'm thinking:
Eibach pro-kit (even it they don't lower the car enough in my opionion, but they should be comfortable) at € 210
AP or Weitec coilovers, if I can get them for €650, I hope at -45 they are still good and not harsh.
Bilstein PPS € 890
What's your opinion?
It's € 460 shipped.. I an get them in Italy from FTC for 480 so I'll buy them here if the best offer in the uk is from madmotors.
It's almost half the price of the Bilstein PSS, honestly that's just too expensive. The Spax are TUV approved, I just hope they're not too harsh and crashy on broken...
What do you think?

Are the -45mm compatibile with the TCE?
I asked a quote to FTC automotive, I know the owner and they are distributors in Italy.
I've sent a PM. I can get the Bilstein PSS for 890 € shipped, a bit on the expensive side, so I hope to spend less.
I decided to go with coilovers as I don't want a crashy ride.
I see you have the KW 1 basic setup on sale...how is it?
I'll send you an email about this...also we'll probably develop an exhaust system for the non-sport mk3 using my car as a testbed, you may be interested...
