Okay! Update time!
I finally solve the knocking issues, it was a balljoint... Hahahah had to take to a mechanic and he instantly recognised what is was.
With that out of the way I bought a radio and some speakers for the back as one was broken.
The Radio JVC KD-X320BTE
Speakers Kenwood KFC -...
Hi guys,
I am looking on refurbishing my alloys and will like to pick a colour for these. Firstly a pic of the car as it stands now:
I got the car with the wheels painted as they are now and I think it is anthracite of some kind. The problem for me is that they are too blueish for my liking...
Ok, so I have fit them, they fit and don´t take too much time fit.
Apart from that, I realised that at the rear I had 1 shock for a 1.2 and one original 90.000 miles 182 non cup. The front ones where the original ones and had also 90000 miles on them. I did laser track the car also when...
Hello lads,
I am in need of changing my tyres for my clio 182 with 7J wheels. I was looking at going again with Michelin PS3 on 205s, but had a look at the 195s and are much cheaper. I will be saving around 25% on the 195 over 205. Will there be any drawbacks on doing so?
The ones you need are these: http://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/products/Renault-Clio-182-Shock-Absorber-(Rear)-**CUP-MODEL**.html
They are one of the chepest places around too. Also replace the pair if never replaced the none leaking one.
I have bought 172 cup front dampers and 182 cup rear dampers to go with some eibach pro springs for a 182 Non Cup. Will post some impresions once i have them fitted and tried.
Hello everyone,
I am on my way to revert the car back to stock form, just as I like it! On this difficult path, I am at the point where I need to change the aftermarket radio my car has to a Stock Radio. Is there a radio from renault that will fit the MK2, have MP3 and the possibility of...
Ok, I get it, but it was not that. I took the suspension out again and check it, and the bearing was there. The problem is that the doughnut that mapco provided was really weaker than the renault one and as such the doughnut was touching the body
as opose to the other one:
I change the...
Thanks, why do you say that the bearing is missing? any indication for that?. I am sure that I have not missed the bearing, but I might have put it the wrong way round, but seems unlikely as I did both sides at the same time
Hello All,
I tried solving a knocking noise by changing the top mount of the driver side suspension, but I think i have done somethin wrong as there is a big gap between the top hat and the body.
Side with no Knocking:
New Item and still knocking:
The diference is pretty obvious. I have...
Yes, but not gone very far. I try solving the knocking noise by changing the top mount of the suspension, but I think i have done somethin wrong as there is a big gap between the top hat and the body.

So not much has been going on with the BG, I had the ESP + SERV lights poping up randomly. After some investigation I found that the problem was with the brake pedal sensor and I reset it following a guide on here. That resulted on comfirming that it was indeed the pedal sensor as the lights...
I installed this weekend the IK that The Fatty put together (Link) and everything I have to say is that is AWESOME! The sound it makes when pressing more than half way the throttle is amazing, and when you want to go like Flanders it makes no more sound than the original intake system. Here are...
I have now fitted this and the sound it make is amazing, but this is going to kill my MPG...😢 I am flooring it more times than I used to just to hear it hahahhah
Anyhow, thanks The Fatty for this, it is greatly appreciated!
I thought I should start a progress thread about my newly acquired Renault Clio 182.
It has close to 89,000 miles (143,000 km) and a few niggles, but which renault doesn´t ... hahahah
As a summary of the car:
-Belts were done at 70,000 miles
- It has compomotive MO5 alloy wheels with...
I have done some reaserch and have found a common problem with this motors. The problem is that a cylindrical rubber thingy increases in size and does not let a cylinder move freely. Has anyone fix this by trimming down this rubber thingy? or has anyone been able my headlight washer problem at...
Thanks! I have done a more thorough search and found a guide of how to remove it, will try this weekend and will swap it for the windscreen one to check if it works.
BTW: the guide is this one http://www.cliosport.net/threads/guide-washer-pump-bottle-removal.543810/
Hello Guys,
Took the bumper off yesterday to check if the washers were clogged, but no water was coming from the two tubes that connect to the tubes that go to the washers. With this info in mind what problem do you guys think it could be? Headlight washer pump maybe? How can I check it? Is...
I will try and do this during the weekend and I will post the outcome. Shall I take the aux belt after running the car for a while or when cold?
Hi Ben,
I have done a video of the car from cold:
As for the 2 rubber cam bungs, not sure what you mean by this, are this the ones near to the...
That might be the case, but the rough idle and the whining noise is an indication that something is not running as it should and might be putting extra stress on some components that could potentially fail and ruin the engine, am I right in thinking this?
Thanks, it might be related or might not be, as the vibration at idle gets worse when moving the steering wheel on the spot (Without the car moving).
I will check tomorrow and I will post a video, but I am pretty sure the idle is fine when cold as it is the diesel sound.
Thank you all for your...
Hi guys,
I recently bought a Clio 182 that had a Cambelt change 3 years ago, but no sign of the dephaser being changed. The car sits on nearly 90000 miles if that is of any use. The weird thing is that around that area there is another noise like a pulley or something like that, but can't be...
Sorry to hijack your thread, but where do you guys think I can buy a set of geniune tools for changing the cambelt and depasher. I have tried Renault dealers but they will not sell them.
