Just use Disk Utility if you feel you need to do anything, should be fine anyway it's not designed to have maintenance every 5 minutes like a PC.

The last time I used AVG was a while ago and it didn't resolve a problem if it found one which is useless. Been using ESET Smart Security (NOD32 with firewall etc) for a few years now and it works great and doesn't intrude what your doing every 5 minutes either.

lol Looks like you do have a Dell recovery partition then. I guess Disk 1 partition 3, what size is it?

When it boots check the top right of the screen you can have it access the boot once menu with something like the F10 key instead of changing the boot order.
