Used to have a 1.2 16v Clio on a Y plate. Lots of tasteful mods. Then moved to a 275hp Starlet turbo.

No way I can really fault the car, except for the relative low torque in stock form. However, I have...
200hp is hard on standard turbo.
180hp is achieveble thou. Probs missed some bits out but:
Run the standard CT9a/b turbo to 1.0bar of boost
Aftermarket manifold and downpipe/possibly decat, but not worth MOT hassle IMO.
Aftermarket exhaust and relocate an airfilter off the turbo...
Engine is forged and fully race balanced.
Some of the spec:
Pauter Rods
Ross low compression forged pistons (0.5mm overbore)
NST lightened and balanced underdrive crank pulley
Cruise valve springs
1.2mm metal headgasket
Exedy paddle clutch
The turbo is a TD04L from a 2005 Impreza...

Not been up against much yet, but it beat a BMW E46 M3 with no problems. I was still pulling away in 5th! Not bad for a 1.3 eh!?

You can boost the standard turbo to achieve about 180bhp with correct fueling mods etc and they are really light. Glanza about 920kg, GT which is the earlier version is even lighter.
Handeling is shite as stock due to the old suspension design, but aftermarket bits are easy to get hold of which...
Bit random.
They are completely different cars. 1 old, Jap and turbo. 1 modern French and NA.
Standard vs Standard a 182 will be quicker and handle a lot better.
However, the Glanza can be tuned to have a lot of power and a lot of torque for not a lost of dosh due to it being turbo...
