Hi, going to get a second car for travelling as it looks like my miles are going to increase a bit.
So, I've had a look around and the best VFM small hatch I can really see is the Clios. My wife wants to try something new, maybe a Fiesta as she likes them but I'm reluctant since I know Clios, like them and can get one for less money.
Ok so I'd like a 2005 ish on and spending as little as poss. There seems to be quite a few around the 3k mark on Trader.
Cheapness to run and fuel efficiency are the main principles as it'll purley for going back and forward to work with the Trophy being used for Friday runs and fun.
The ones that meet these requirments are the 1.2, 1.4 and dCI. Ok, I know maybe the dCI will be the best on fuel but tend to be that little more to buy with higher miles, also only 5 door? I'll do the calcs but I'd think it would take a while to recoup that capital cash outlay. Furthermore, would prefer a 3 door. That leaves the 1.2 or 1.4 - any difference in petrol and performance between the two as if they isn't I may as well opt for a 1.4.
Any other general feedback on other options as everything will be taken onbaord.
