1.2 8v-Rear N/S Wheel Jammed-Help

Hi folks, mums Authentique just KOd on the road side...the rear Near Side wheel has completely jammed on. It clunked round the corner smoking as the tyre dragged and it wont budge! Any suggestions??

Check that the handbrake cable ist stuck on, and that the handbrake isnt engaged on that wheel.

Ohterwise check the wheel bearings etc.

have there been any warning signs, ie strange noises/vibrations etc?

How old is the car? Milage etc?

20k on a 2001. It clunked a couple of days ago when pulling off but it had been sitting unused for 4 days so assumed breaks were just a little seized. ABS and Service lights are on.

its a fault on the rear shoes mate, renault know about it

the surface of the rear shoe has fallen off and stuck the drum on

mine did this!! had to yank the rear drums off and fit new shoes (cost me £23.99!)

pain in the arse trying to pull off a seized drum!!!
