1*2 cup holders - Can they be modified to fit larger cans/bottles?

I've had a look through some other threads and no luck.

Has anyone modified the bottom part of the air con/heater unit so a larger can/bottle can fit?

It's great for smaller cans, it's just a tad annoying for anything bigger.

would be easier to cut the bottoms out and extend with fibre glass. depending on the room underneath the cup holders that is.

Why would you want to put larger cans in? Surely that's illegal

Energy drinks are the same size.

Might have a go and see if I can do anything. Was just checking if anyone had done it.
