T TomBear Car 1.5 Clio Dynamique Jan 20, 2010 #1 not mine but my sisters She was doing about 50 - 55mph on a dual carriageway and cambelt / timing belt snapped (i assume they are the same things.) what are the likely cost implications. obviously the pistons will be bent but is there a rough idea on cost????????

Rob ClioSport Moderator Car 650 - V8 Goodness Jan 20, 2010 #9 ^ I'd agree with that, having seen it done, its not as bad as you'd imagin. But aparently you need specific timing tools on the 8v?

R Rb182 Car Betty Big Bum R26 Jan 21, 2010 #10 had one done before on a 1.2 8v- cost £120 to have the head refurbed. Then obviously new gaskets etc and new belt kit. Depends what the extent of the damage is, which obviously you'll only find out when you take the head off.
