If you're going to go through so much trouble to swap to the 1.2 turbo engine, why not drop the F4R 2.0 into it?

Well don't want a big 2.0 its not gonna be for massive performance just a nice amount of power nd talk for daay drivingwith a little bit of a kick nd good fuel ecconomy as have family far away from me

Well I been reading nd yes they use the same engine block nd also the same wiring loom nd I don't want a mk3 as I prefer the 2 nd like my car just thought I it could be done for a good price then seems like it could be fun as they have been tuned to 150bhp in the past nd make reali good torque.

I think it would be quite a cool little conversion, but the wiring side of it is likely to be a bit of a headache.

The question is how easily tuned are the 1.2TCE units? (without replacing/adding expensive parts)

You can get between 120 nd 130 with a remap nd then exhaust nd filter but k-tec have one at 150bhp I think

Well I now know it uses the same block mounts nd posably engine loom
Nd turbo sounds better nd better for my wallet lol

These use a td02 unit do depending on internal strenth should see some good power nd torque I would think in answer to how tunable for a 1.2 anyway

Sell it and buy a 172 is the other thing to consider, better brakes, better suspension, cheaper to insure probably.

Plus then you can turbo the 2.0 and go play with the big boys :)

no one has pushed standard internals past 170hp, and only one guy that I know of as pushed past 160hp. quite a few happily pushing out 150hp/150lbft though, all you need is 172/182 injectors, bigger intercooler, exhaust& decat and a good map

id like to do a conversion if I had a spare ph2, as chip says wiring will be your only issue, worst case scenario though just use a twingo dash and wiring.

you could do it for under a grand if your handy, much less if you can map!

£1000 ontop of your £1500 1.2 16v, sure you could buy a 172 for that money but you would have something just as fast and very unique for your cash!

You do realise you cant just plug a laptop in and map the standard ECU, it takes quite a lot of specialised equipment?

well I assume hes not going to be mapping it himself hence why I said you could only do it for less if you can map! of course you wouldn't need to map it to get it running but 100hp isn't much for all the time and money you just spent converting
