This is why you should be able to afford to service and maintain a car, not just buy one. Cambelt before universal muffler tip y0.

  renault clio 1.6 rsi
i can afford to but its under warantee so why bother
when the warantee runs out i could still have things fixed if needs be but touch wood there wont be any need
i was chuffed to hear tht the guy had to almost completely rebuild the topend
i have been led to believe this will restore some of the power lost over the years and once the parts are kinda broken in there will be a noticable difference in engine performance which i suppose is somethin to look forward to. i rang the guy dealing with my repairs the other day and he said so far it had cost him 450 quid to reapir the and tht was just for the new parts
he says tht doesnt include labour or ''pressure testing'' etc
so im soo glad i paid the little extra for the warantee
well worth it lolo
lookin forward to havin a faster car than some of the nobheads round here
burn them fookers and leave them chokin on my dust
showing of in thier pathetic novas, corsas and saxos etc
they are just kids
haha
what they dont know wont hurt them
hahaha

I'd be careful, all you need to come up against is a red top corsa or a vts and you'll get left standing.

  renault clio 1.6 rsi
lol thts true but there all peasants round here so tht aint likely
i was on the A1231 a few weeks back and raced a 2l hdi 206 and he could for the life of himself keep up and i was barely tryin
my bf has a 2l hdi 206 too and he says he can neva keep up if he is tailing me to somewhere lol
is car cant pass 115mph where as mine seems to still want to give more when i hit 125mph

That's not the only reason I'd be careful.. you're gonna end up killing someone, if not yourself, by the sound of it Kris!

I'm not here to cause problems, but from this page alone there's a number of quotes I could use..

as the owner of a 10 year-old Clio myself I know that they are by no stretch of the imagination the most reliable of cars and if you're ragging it around town looking for races against anyone and everyone I'm not sure you have other people's best interests at heart. I'll leave it at that, but in general people on here leave that kind of thing for the track.

Good luck sorting your car.

i dont go looking for trouble if thts wot u mean but if one finds one self at the lights with some spotty teen in a 1l 15 year old saxo or some s**t you cant say you wouldnt be tempted if the timing was right :)

Maybe it's just me, but if I bought a car that needed an engine rebuild after one week of ownership, I'd be calling it a shed. However, I have only ever owned one car - my current one - and that was from new, so maybe I'm in no position to comment.

Hope it all gets sorted soon though, as it's not been all straight forward for you.

My point was that you should of bought a car with history or had the belt done before you picked it up. It wont be faster, you may gain some mpg or 1\2 a hp by de coking the head and having it skimmed but thats it. Hell, you may lose some if he does the belt wrong. Good luck though and dont kill yourself. You have the aids to look forward to yet.

No offence mate im a learner driver and not being funny quite level headed and im only 17 the thought of someone like you wanting to challenge me if the timing was right at some lights is well pretty much summing up your mental age. Not trying to start an argument but that comment just says every teenage driver is labeled as someone who is not gonna look after their car and rag it everywhere you rising to their bait don't make you that much better.

Also it doesnt matter if a cars a 1.2 - 1.4 - 1.5 - 1.6 or 2.0 litre, just because the 206 was a 2.0L doesnt mean its considered 'fast', thats like saying you would compare a 2.0L 206 HDI to a 2.0 172/182 or even a cooper S, its BHP and the DRIVER that matters, afaik the 206 HDIs are in the 80bhp-100bhp range, so no wonder why you may have beaten him/her, as said by another member id love to see you challenge a VTS or a red top corsa, might give u a slap in the face which seems like what you need atm no offence lol

I think when he probably kills somebody driving like a loon that'll be the slap in the face he needed, but as always, it came too late.
