16v to Williams Performance increase

Right,

My car is off the road for the next few days with the engine being swapped over (16v to williams) so to ease the wait can anyone who has driven both wet my appitite my with the possible performace gains i can look forward too,

for what little differnce it makes, the 16v was running a piperX and de-cat and full s/s exhaust,

The Willaiams lump will be the PiperX, de-cat and full s/s exhaust and a hill power williams performance chip,

At the monet im half looking forward to it but half wondering what to do next when its finished, i have got a new front bumper with new fogs going on next week too, next thing for me will proably be a leather interior from a R19 (Black leather is best!) and there will be a bit of work involved in makeing the rear seats fit.

other than that i reckon it done for a while at least

Perhaps its time to flog it and get another project!

i want a RWD escort, the MK 1s are sexy, i dont car what anyone says,

wack a big something in there with even bigger carbs and your away!

I have been eyeing up a Mk1 escort recently. Tatty but solid, but the great plus is it already has a rover v8 fitted. Its been for sale for a while and he originally wanted 1200 but he aint managing to sell it so am tempted to make a silly offer, cause I am told the guy is desperate for space. What you reckon, great winter project or what, still it needs to come down as i reckon it is only worth half that, but it would be just fantastic sideways fun for the slippy winter roads.

Cliocup!

you know it has to ba a MK1!!!

a MK1 RS2000 with a warrior head! yummy!

twin 48s!!! YES!

oh, and lovely steel bubble arches (i know hard to find)

a MK2 is nice, but ONLY if its done right...they look just too far bolt upright and those silly forest arches couldnt have been designed with anything but a ruler! LOL

LOFTY, wat you say you and me go searching for a MK1.....or an anglia 105e! yummy....

Boys Boys Boys,

You know the only escort to have is a Mk2. Sorry, Mk1s just dont cut it. Only for hysterical rallying and nothing else.

Mk2s are the way forward. I might have a Mk1 with a type 49 shell and the warrior you mentioned, but those monaco spec arches (forests but 1.5" wider on the back) are just too sexy!

you really dont want an anglia! no no no. Gotto be any escort over that. Pre-crossflows?! Whats all that about!!!

BenR. That x-flow i have turns out to be a good un. A 711M block bored to 1700cc with low comp pistons, L&B crank and flywheel, stainless oversize valves (not sure what size yet) steel rocker posts, titanium valve springs and so on. Just giving it a rebuild now. Could have easily been bog standard though, i just didnt know...

yes well my williams engine has got 4 valves per cylinder,

and the cars water tight!!

something i would struggle to have in a RWD escort,

I have seen what must be the best and most original Lotus twin cam Mk1 there is, and i would dearly love one, the MK2 is ugly but they arent bought for looks, they are bought broadside action and snarling twin carb music

LOL!!!

well, true the MK1 aint best for dirt action by hell.....it started it all....

true the MK2 dominated with Ari with that gorgeous BDA.....OMG!!! but i would *ready for fire* take teh FIAT 131 over that MK2........so much better looking and the motor was just as good......and rahl.....jesus!

just finished building a head for me X-flow.....biggest valves you can fit in without offset guides.......42.3mm......uprated single springs, alloy rockers......not the high ratio though.

i got port piccies in detail too....ill mail them to you guys when i get the net sorted at my place...
