172/182 cup racer dash with 197/200 centre console (were the switch panels are)

Hi all
Now i've managed to get a cup racer cage for my 182 and with the dash supports (metal frame behind) i have to cut it about to make the cage fit.
Now i'm in this stage of doing my track/road car i'm thinking of changing my dash to the 172/182 cup racers and customising the 197 centre console to fit for RHD.

I've been in contact with R-sport but the money they want is stupid

Sounds good mate but I can't see the pictures? May just be my computer! I'm running the standard 182 top dash mounted onto the cage and the cage fits perfectly through the tweeter holes and then just going to run all switch panels and controls down on the central tunnel. Get the photo's up if you can as I don't know if you mean standard 197 centre console or the cup racer one

Yes bignash i mean the cup racer centre console , any chance of uploading a pic of yours.

Cro-clio always possible using the mk1 dash didn't think of that before lol, hasn't ph-reebone got a mk1 on his car?

I can see them now I wanted to do something similar but I thought to get someone to make it would end up been very expensive so i'm just going to use the same method as the first picture and mount the controls at the side of the seat for now anyway. Iceman has done what you are thinking of and had someone make one up so have a look at his thread for shape/ size ideas Out of interest how much was it from R-Sport? £450ish?

Cheers bigash will check his thread , R-sport quoted me £842+vat for the 172/182 dash i didn't even bother asking him for a price for the 197/200 centre console as it would be even worse.

I'm pretty handy with fibreglass so can always make one myself for much less than the quote i had.

Jeeez that is mad and also it would be LHD wouldn't it?! I would give it a bash if I were you especially seeing as how good your headlights turned out

Yes it would be LHD but was going to modify it for RHD. I've given the guy that's done icemans centre console a PM asking if he would build another and sell it to me, if he doesn't it's no problem i'll make my own should only take me about 2 weeks from start to finish .

If he doesn't get back to me in a months time, i'll get the materials and start myself as soon as it's all done i'll post a pic.

Sounds really good I would have no idea where to start with trying to make that lol! I hope you get sorted out and please get the photo's up as i'm sure it'll look good and may inspire me to going down the same route

Here you go Bigash didn't want to reveal this until it was flocked and switch/fuse/relay panels fitted but ain't long finished making my own dash and console hope you like it and also inspire you too.
