172/182/cup/trophy differences?

  Rb182cup+s2 rallye
Basically im new to all this and im really not sure what the differences are between all the models like the 172, 182 cup and trophy.
Its a bit confusing at times reading what people have put and not understanding.

what models the most expensive?
what comes with what? like abs air con ect.
whats the fastest?
ive seen some with the double exhaust and somewithout witch ones witch

what im after is the big and little differences so i can tell them apart.

  LY V6 with Recaros
The Trophy is the most expensive, this is based on the cup but with better suspension, the cup is a lightweight version with less luxuries ie climate control, abs, half leather, zenons etc. the 182 is the one with the double exhaust, the 172 doesnt have this, but they are basically very similar, although the 172 has 10 less bhp, its a bit lighter, but overall the same car. Im starting to confuse myself now!! I think the 172 cup is the fastest

Deb, that is reddled with some false info, but a good try!

First off the 172 and 182 stand for PS not BHP and this extra PS was found through a new manifold, the 172 has a 4-1 the 182 has a 4-2-1.

If we start with the 172's we can work our way onto the 182's

some of the ph1 172's came with an Alloy bonnet and there was also a limted edition Exclusive which had a specal paint job and wheels, only 172 of these were made. These are considered the worset built, but being potentailly the lightest, the fastest.

Along came the ph2 172, much improved build quality, and its special edition was the Cup, which were avaible in Silver or Blue and had an option of Climate Control. The Cups had differnt wheels, no abs, no air con, no engine cover and a differnt spoiler (think there were someother differences) It was seen as a Drivers car, just over 2000 were made but this falls each yeah around xmas!

And so the 182 was born! with is different manifold, wheels and twin exhausts at the back! When buying a 182 you could chose the Cup Packs! These were anthrcite wheels and different suspension. To confuse things further they then relesed the 182 Cup, IIRC is exactly the same as a 182 with both Cup Packs but only avalible in two colours!

With the mk2 Clio ending its run Renault relese the 182 Trophy. A limited run of 500 only avalible in Red with anthracite Speedline Turini Wheels (same wheels the 172 Cup had but different offset) A v6 Spoiler and a really funky all new suspension set up!..

... i think thats it!

You only normally see the back of a 172 Cup.

***runs***

Very true, the front half's normally burried in a hedge somewhere due to the lack of ABS ;)

***runs in opposite direction***

well done m8, bet that took a while to type. why dont we have a section on cliosport with full specs of each RS and non RS variant, this is supposed to be the largest unofficial clio forum in the UK and yet some of the limited info thats on the main page is incorrect.

i demand a full clio listing with options and specs for even 1.2/1.4 extremes, billabongs, cups, trophys, any other unusual colours and features or not in the case of the cup i.e sunroof, abs, esp, climate, aircon, cruise options models etc.. worth it for these questions are always asked.

firstly though can we get the weights of the cars right lol

the 182 cup does not have as many of the fancy bits like the full fat 182 with cup pack does, cliamate control, leather/alcantara xenons etc
