Ah, that will explain why I dont see the point in a Volvo, I dont do motorways very often, I mostly drive twisty B roads and dual carriagewaysQuote: Originally posted by ESCOBAR on 25 March 2005
you ARE missing something fantastic about Volvo estates - the V70 T5 is a sweet car to drive - so so smooth comfy and quick. I drive one every other day - both have their plus points. Above 90 and the volvo feels far more solid and powerful. Dont get me wrong Im not saying its better than the sport but - it aint boring - it eats up the motorway journeys. Its like going along the motorway on a lazyboy.
However, dont try and go along a B road in one anywhere above 60 - they will get you!
P.S - oh, im 28
Is 28 when youre officially old or something? If being older makes me want to buy a megane then im getting worried. lol.Quote: Originally posted by cabbagekitten on 27 March 2005
people over 28 should buy a proper pocket rocket, rather than a clio 172.
buy a 2004 megane 2litre or even an alfa gtv (pricey) or a fiesta st180.

The Renaultsport Megane 225.
0-60 = 6.5secs.
Top Whack = 147mph
BHP/ Tonne = 167 <<
EVO Comments:
+ Quick, Capable hot hatch.
- Poor Steering feel
Overall rating (3.5*)
or even an alfa gtv (pricey)
You must be talking about the 3litre V6 Jobby.
0-60 = 6.5secs
Top Whack = 150mph (not too shabby)
BHP / Tonne = 159 <<
EVO Comments;
+ Glorious V6 makes it a mini Ferrari
- So so Chassis.
Overall rating (4*)
or a fiesta st180.
A Fiesta ST (148 BHP) I assume you meen?
0-60 = 7.9secs.
Top Whack = 129mph
BHP/ Tonne = 132 <<
EVO Comments;
+ Great looks (?), decent bakes.
- Disappointing chassis, Gutless engine.
Overall rating (3*)
im sure middle aged people can afford to splash out a tad more on a car that has a "normal" driving position and a lot more refinement. (Not sure when a Fiesta became refined. Maybe I missed that one. )
Yeah, I get your point but If I wanted to spend 20K-30K on a a car I would get something more like an Impreza STI Spec C / Evo 8 or even a 350Z but (as a drivers car) the 172/cup/182 are bloody good and (it only takes a few minutes to get used to the driving position)
on that note, i hope the 2006 clio 192 will have better seats
Just get the 182 now, and tick the "Recaro" option.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention a test of the best drivers cars in January this year;
1st was : PORCHE 911 S
Joint 2nd was : the Lotus Exige AND the Clio 182 CUP
Beating....
3rd: Porsche Boxter
4th: Lotus 111R
5th: Impreza Type 25
6th: VW Golf GTI
7th: Mini Cooper S
8th: EVO MR-340
9th: Maser Gransport
10th: Merc SLK350
11th: Vauxall VX220R
12th: Monaro VXR
13th: Ariel Atom
Last: Audi RS6 Plus.
Getting my 182 (with cup spoilers / suspension) next week.
Yes I am 35..And cannot wait.
NUFF Said.

would that be the ford fantasy of a fiesta st180. or the more realistic 149. with a 2.0 asthmatic, sorry zetec.
on another note, if reno make a 192 in 2006. based on a qiuck calculation ill keep my 172 till 2011 and buy a clio 252 (nice)
