172 + 4 Weeks + 750miles = Well Chuffed

Despite my other post with my 1st problem heres my thoughts so far :-

Just started taking car to nearly 6000rpm - above 4000-4500 the car just pulls and pulls, really surprised at how the standard car sounds. Brakes are just fantastic and steering/handling spot on. So far not had any probs starting car at all and the idle is smooth tickover. Stereo more than good enough for me

Seats are cool and dont find the pedals a problem like some reports have said pedals are too close together, maybe drivers seat still a shade too high and not keen on the front wipers having a mind of their own

Had my first run-in with a Golf Gti - not so much a race but some smart arse trying to under-take whilst exiting a roundabout - disposed of it easily with loads more rpm to come - well pleased and love the car to bits

Took you 4 weeks to cover 750miles!

Most of the people on here ran their new clios in over a day or two..... LMAO!

1198 in 3 weeks... And I only live 7 miles from where I work. Seem to take the long way round now, cant think why!!

Glad your pleased with her mate... Its futile trying to keep the car below 6000rpm.... let her go and wait for the shift light!!!

Funny you mentioned a run in with a Golf Gti... My mate and I had a play on the way back from football training the other night... I didnt realise quite how slow the standard Gti (S reg,mk5? ) is !!! Gti my arse!!

Yeh its been frustrating tell me about it, got a company car until 5th jan so been putting the miles on that in the crap weather and mainly used 172 on weekends and 1 trip to work a week, that will change in 2 weeks when I only have the 172 so cant wait - itll make the trip to work more enjoyable

I booked the week off work after the delivery date of mine, and basically had a driving holiday (locally) and covered 1800 miles!! It was awesome.

rich m8. Stop taking easy on the revs AND THRASH IT PLEEEEEASE!!! If you think its good now wait till your screaming round the b roads on the rev limiter ;)

  Cup 172

Ive done 1250 miles in 13 days and its loosened up a treat, as some tit in a V6 Vectra found out when I thrashed him into next week.

:D

It must be something about 172s - Ive had it just over 2 weeks and covered 1200 miles, its so much fun and addictive.

At the rate Im going at will be covering 24K a year, most fun car Ive had and the way it delivers the power it feels as though there is 200bhp + compared to a focus ST I used to have.

Or maybe my silver cup has had some specialist treatment from renault sport:)
