172 Cambelt change

Just had my cambelt & Aux belt changed at a local garage (in Huddersfield). The car had a few running issues like, really crap tick over, missfire when cold and hesitations. It seemed a bit under powered too. I bought the car from a fairly big garage and they denied that the problems were there. With no history of the belts and rollers been changed, thought I had best get em changed after hearing horror stories on here. So after quizing the garage about doing the belt and making sure they knew what they were doing, I took the car in. Got the car back tonight and its like a different motor!! The garage told me the belt was a tooth out and said it should drive better than before. The tick over is perfect, no hesitation and it has bags more power (esp at top end!). They charged me just over 300 quid which I thought was V cheap!
Just thought I would post this incase anyone local to me was needing there belts changing. PM me if you want the garage details................

That is cheap especially if it was the full cambelt and auxbelt kits!

Is there such a thing as a tooth out on floating pulley motors?

Im not 100% sure. I know that whatever has been done has transformed the car though

There would be if they have got the Renault locking tools and have not un-done the cam pulleys i guess.

I guess it must mean that it has been changed before.......................badly???
