Clio 172 PH II
Hello gents,
Recently got a 172ph2 with a slipping clutch and very high clutch pedal
Seller had no idea when/if the clutch changed.
Pulled the hearbox off to change it.
The flywheel and clutch have blue overheat spots.
Thee clutch plate seems to have some material left. (see pics)
My guess flywheel has been milled at some point (socket marks round the flywheel bolts) and then the next clutch kit refitted without account for increased gap.
There is a noticeable "step" or "lip" on the flywheel surface clutch working area - it is raised.
Question
How can I check if the flywheel was milled and if it was how much?
Do I need to mill it again for the overheat spots?
Background
The clutch was slipping heavily under low mid rpm and seemed to "catch on" on high high rpm.
The gearbox did not watch the VIN (JC130) - JC129 actually fitted.
I don't believe the clutch cable was changed. Is there difference between JC129 vs JC130 clutch cables?
May that be the root cause and should I get a new cable?
Thanks!
