172 Cup bad feeling

I've just arranged to view a 172 Cup on a 53 plate, with 53k on the clock tommorow, and the chap from the garage has just called me back to talk about the car, he says it needs a new windscreen due to a crack, two front tyres, and is due for the cambelt as it hasnt been done yet.
My spider senses are tingling that i should steer clear whats peoples opinions??

Worth looking at if it is nearby. The cambelt should be about £250 by a Renault specialist if no a/c. It will need other bits replacing due to it's age though. Take it all into consideration.

If its like 3k and only needs belts, tyres and screen i would give it a go

It's crazy to be even considering seeing it .the way you have described it I would say 2k or stay clear mate

Mine was in similar condition... I paid £2600 for it. Spent £400 and it's perfect now so I've saved some money.

If it's cheap enough, do it. Just use it as a bargaining tool. £10 says the guy doesn't know that a belt change is cheaper on the cup, so just blag it. Tell him it's going to cost you £500.

Whereabouts was this as i looked at 182 in Newmarket and they had a Cup up for £3995 that the salesman said they were using as a runaround and from what i saw of it only one of the tyres had anywhere near enough air in it and it would easily have won the dirtiest car thread

My RB 182 Cup will be for sale soon for a touch more than that, belts done 4k ago, 12 months MOT & 6 Months Tax 59k on the clock, pic's in the Media section....

Yeah its that one, he didnt say anything about using it as a run around!!!!!

this might seem off topic but might be relevant to the OP, when i was looking for my first cup loads were advertised as a cup but actually just had the cup packs, so werent lighter

There were 90 silver cups made, 33 of which had climate and 106 of the blue cups had climate.
