172 Cup Cambelt Change

Hi all, currently in the process of buying a 172 cup, my first renaultsport clio and really cant wait to get it! Only thing bugging me is that it hasn't had the cambelt changed and is currently sitting at 61000 miles. Was just wondering if anybody had had one changed recently and how much it cost them? everything else has been done with the engine concerning servicing the car? What do you think?

It should really be done about now, particularly if you don't know the history of the car. GDI will change the timing and auxillary belt on a cup for about £350. I've used them before and they provide a good service.

Yep £350 is a decent price at a good independent. Would'nt bother with the Renault dealerships, it'll cost much more.

Get it done mate, seems to be a spate of cambelts snapping at the moment!
