172 cup gearbox advice needed

my gearbox is getting worst, started off as a cruch in 3rd&4th. Now sumtimes in traffice it dont wanna get in 1st and 2nd.

Whats the best option 2nd hand box or a reconditiond.
I called my local they said they can recon it, they said if its simple £90 if not more. I asked they will it be a good job. He said 'his been doing recons since 1975 and noone has complained about his work so sounds good. Also i have a little noise somewhere, wat cud this be?

also i have plans to have a quickshift, is it best to do both sametime. Or can this be done later.

Quick shift will hurt the new box by rushing it, so imo not worth doing. Recon box if it was my money. Remember Cup boxes are different to standard 172 boxes, cup units have a speedo (lol) drive

its likely to cost you way more than £90 i would say so dont assume it will be £90.

at least you know its been refurbed with your rather than spending similar money on an unknown gearbox if you get my drift.

good point dave, plus the fact gaz is saying cups have diff boxes

i just had my box in my cup replaced due to sum fault with the diff circlip. renault themselves did it. very dear lol.
