172 cup mods

hi ive just recently bought a clio 172 cup 02 plate has 79k miles its in great condition and drives great... uz must here this alot but help ov some mods it has a really big pipercross airfilter on it and a back box... is it best to get a exhaust system with decat ? also thinking about remap after ive done few things .. all im thiking is a double exhaust system with a decat similar to the 182 system but not in the middle near either side if you get what i mean .. any pics ov this done would be great and maybe a viper kit ? then a remap was thinking about cams but dont know what else needs changeing apart from the cams .. also 4got 2 mention the big airfilter seems to be takein in hot air aswel al try get sum pics ov it ... aswel the car uses alot ov petrol and i havent even put my foot down yet went out 2 c my mate and 2 c my lass they both live within 2mins from me and went down 1 bar ov petrol ....

aswel the car uses alot ov petrol and i havent even put my foot down yet went out 2 c my mate and 2 c my lass they both live within 2mins from me and went down 1 bar ov petrol ....

That is just down to the fact that the petrol gauge is crap. What is your average mpg on the trip computer?

He is suggesting that the position you have that filter placed in is making it susceptible to heat soak and a reduction in power.

My Cup is pretty economical, average about 40mpg

i've got a bmc cda airbox and it gives me alot better mpg than the oem airbox, suggestions for mods i would say matched inlets, bmc cda, decat and a rs tuner custom remap would see decent gains in bhp and possibly decrease mpg

any other ideas where i could put the filter tho ? and ive been told the car has inlets already :S but after a exhaust with a decat and maybes a change ov air filter then a remap wudnt that lose more petrol again ... and my car says its geting 34.4 mpg ... does any1 think cams with those mods or will they be enuf for now ? cheers ppl

You could try fitting a caf trumpet infact i've got a lower grill and a caf trumpet for sale

Tbh 34.4mpg aint that bad i get between 35-45mpg !!!

How long have you had the car? I would get a few miles under your belt in it personally before you go changing things. Cups are pretty good fun standard tbh.

its nt that fact ov geting that mpg .. it just sum how seems to drain very quickly and ive had the car 4days lol but i had my other 172 cup 5 month... and whats the lower grill and a caf trumpet ? any pics and much would you be wanting ? and yea its fun but im still wanting it abit more quicker
