Thought i'd do a thread for my 172 Cup...

Purchased on 29.12.2021 from a private seller in Keighley, 99,474 miles and completely original. Car was in a condition you would expect for being 18 years old, and French. Purchased from a guy that had it since 2018 and kept it in dry storage, did about 30 miles since owning it.

First thing i did after getting it back home was to give it a thorough valet so i could assess rust inside arches and all around the usual places you tend to find it on these.

Thank you. Got a lot of plans with it, aim is to restore it to OEM apart from a Ktec Stealth, Snappy Wheel and maybe Bilstein B14’s
KTEC Stealth was too loud for me. I ended up going back to a OEM exhaust and a sports Cat. I have a KTEC induction kit fitted which makes a nice noise but only when you floor it.

I fitted OEM Cup shocks and Cooksport springs which I find absolutely fine for the road.

Thanks Dave, was it the silenced KTEC stealth?

Cooksport springs are my second option, just depends if i want to stretch to Coilovers.

I'd say the PMS is quieter than the ktec. The ktec is imo slightly better made though.

B14s are perfect for a road car and not that much more than a set of new eibachs and cup shocks!

It was the silenced one but it didnt have a Cat when I first picked the car up. I then got a Sports Cat fitted to the KTEC and it was still too much for me...im a old bugger lol.

I don't want it loud either, i was just wanting one because it was stainless steel and wont fall apart within days like the OEM ones 😂
I picked up a used OEM exhaust and then sprayed it with HVT silver paint. Its lasting perfectly well so far but tend not to drive the car when there is salt etc on the roads.

I love my PMS silenced system. I need to update my thread as now using my Cup quite a bit. PMS really put some thought into the design of the downpipe and sports cat.

Cleaned the interior throughly, left the seats as i will wet vac once i've figured out how to remove considering the bolts are rusty. Used Elbow Grease and a microfibre and warm water to de-sticky the interior. Next thing was to list down interor parts i needed, i then got in touch with Stuart from Renomotive and bought many parts to complete the interior.

It was missing a couple of small trims on the centre console along with a replacement doorcard as the original had a little cut in the cloth.

Apologies if anyone is following my instagram because you've probably already seen this content, i thought i'd do a thread and catch up to what stage i'm currently at for future reference.

@Stu. is the man !

Tackled rust inside door cards before putting the interior back together…

Also had a go at the bottom of the fuel cap too
