172 cup rear calipers

just a quick question,, the near side rear caliper doesnt work on the handbrake but works on the footbrake, does it need a new caliper or can it be adjusted? the handbrake is 10 clicks high, but the dealer said it was right!!!!

you need to unhook the cables from the calipers, pump the pedal a few times, slaken off the adjuster, re attach the cables to the calipers, and re tighten the adjuster

handbrake should be fully on att 4/5clicks

hope u dont think ive been on a big job before, lol
but how do u get the plastic cover off the handbrake? is it just clipped on

ive taken the plastic cover off the handbrake, but i can find an adjuster . will it be under the rubber cover on the metal bodywork of the car? or is the adjuster under the car? any help is very welcome

its a 10mm nut next to the handbrake, have you taken off the actual handbrake handle cover?? not the surround

yes taken both covers off, and all thers is , is two 10mil nuts holding the actual handbrake to the car, and a rubber cover where the cable comes through, there is no adjuster there at all, its a cup if that makes any difference, thanx

thanx ppl, but iant going under the heatshield, sounds like a bigger job than i first thought. who needs a handbrake anyway?
