172 cup stuck on rev limiter

Hi Guys.

Just got 172 cup on good friday. Very happy with it.

The other day i pulled away from the lights and took it up to the rev limiter. as i change gear it was still stuck on the rev limiter boucing off. i even change in to third and fouth and no change. behind me was a cloud a smoke. smelt like the clutch.

i then came upto a rounabout and it was normal.

im not really sure if its the clutch or ecu messing around.

The shouting seemed to fit in with how manic the rev limiter driving must of been lol.

Sounds like a clutch or something is causing the throttle to jam open. Is yours fly by wire or cable operated?

i don't know, its a 53 reg if that helps

Check the connection plug to the throttle pedal, unplugged = wide open throttle!

Everytime i've had a Clio II with an unplugged potentiometer it's held 2k rpm not 'WOT'

did this get sorted I feel like I may be having the same problem I cant stop my engine from being on full throttle...its also ph2 172 2.0 Sport.
