172 Engines ??

  Monaco 172 Ph2
This might sound like a stupid question but if i were to replace my 172 engine with another would this be a simple straight swap or is there any engine types or numbers that need to be considered to avoid problems ???

only ask as i assumed most if not all 172 F4R engines were the same,

and basically could remove the one i have and replace with another without a problem,

Sorry for being thick - Cheers.

Yes, straight swap.
182 has different inlet and bolt pattern on rocker cover, but thats no big deal.

Assuming both are 172 though, not even that is different, just use the inlet from you own if its a ph2 and you use a ph1 as the throttle body is different.

cup has different belt setup, but core engine still the same.
