172 Exhaust matching to a 182 manifold

Need a bit of help deciding...

I have a 172 mk2 with a Janspeed sports cat and a standard exhaust. Im wanting to buy a 182 manifold and an after market exhaust. What is my best option / only options.
I dont want a decat, or the exhaust to show and it musnt be loud as I love the induction roar from my viper and do motorway miles (boomy).

1. 182 manifold -> modify janspeed cat -> custom stealth exhaust
2. 182 manifold -> 182 sports cat -> custom stealth exhaust
3. 172 manifold -> keep janspeed -> keep standard exhaust
4. 172 manifold -> keep janspeed -> custom stealth exhaust
5. Other options?

any advice welcome!

  Half stripped mk2 172
for me i would go option 1 if you want to keep the janspeed and sports cat, even though i would go for a decat route!!!

k-tec do a 182 manifold which is a bolt on replacement for the original.

bit pricey but worth a look.

1. 182 manifold -> modify janspeed cat -> custom stealth exhaust
2. 182 manifold -> 182 sports cat -> custom stealth exhaust

one of them get my vote, 1 would be cheaper than 2 though, as you already have the janspeed item.

So with some modification its possible to fit a 172 cat to a 182 manifold?

Also I recon I will need a remap as I have a 172 grp N ecu or will it be ok to run this and modify when I have the cash?
