172 Flywheel on a 1.6 k4m???? Help

Hi.

Trying to get hold a of compeition clutch for my 1.6 16v k4m but having no luck with all the usual comp clutch people.

Clutches for 172's are easily avalible, it would be much easier to use one of these. Will a 172 flywheel fit straight onto a k4m crank end and are the will i be able to use a 172 type clutch.

Any replys asap very much appriciated!

I think then you will need a JC5-RS gearbox because the JB3 won´t fit over the 215mm clutch....but why, I allways thougt the K4M-engine has a ordinary 200mm clutch like the the valver and the R5 GTT had, and for them you can get lots....

Pretty sure it will. It's not uncommon to put a 172/megane flywheel on a valver/williams for running standalone management

So a R5 clutch is the same as a K4M JB3?

We just need a competition clutch for my 1.6 16v with a JB3, however that is achieved, either with a 172 flywheel and clutch or a 1.6 flywheel and R5 clutch or whatever.

Why? I think both have 60 tooth?? Hasn´t a 172 Flywheel more innertia than a valver one??

valver doesn't have 60-2 it's 40-2 x2 or something like that

I have a JB3 on my 172 engine/clutch/flywheel. fits fine...

Brilliant. So now all I need to know if will a 172 Flywheel bolt onto a K4M crank???
