172 gear change light (again!)

After 4 years of ownership I finally saw my gearshift light come on today! I apologise to everyone I have told it was not wired up

My excuse is that I was always too careful with the revs in the early days, then after I got my group N ecu the goalposts moved again. Revving beyond 7000 still seems a pointless exercise...

Anyway, got my new exhaust and sports cat today and the car's much keener to rev beyond 7000, so for the first time I hit 7200 and momentarily saw that little glimmer from the dash

Oh, and the light really is crap so I will still be fitting the sequential that I bought last weekend...

Lol... yeah, took me a while to notice mine after i had it chipped. Only ever come on once as i dont usually go that high, but it was a special occasion as i was playing with a scooby.

Doesnt the Group N ecu allow you to rev higher as the standard limit is 7250?

The rev limit with the Group N is about 7800 and the light comes on at about 7200. Seen it twice now!
