  Clio 172
Thought I'd start a little project thread off! Bought my 172 for £820, was a bit sheddy in doors and out! Heres a few pics iv taken! 82k, cambelt was apperntly done last year, but with no proof I'm getting the full works done when Iv got the money.

Just iPhone pics!

Allready set about tidying up the interior, one of the clock buttons was stuck in, so replaced that, airbag light was out on the clocks, random bits of interior screwed on and looked ugly, bits of plastic drilled in so replaced it all! No pics of before/after just half way through!

Plans:

Fit new CV joint, possibly wheel bearing too!
Coilovers
Fit passenger side front foglight
Possibly 182 wheels

People's opinions? Anything you can see that should be done?

Thanks for reading!

Go for some cheap mods to tidy the outside up!

The ones with biggest effect are the fabia splitter and fresh plates including a smaller front plate using the guide on here. They make quite a big difference for not much money.

In terms of the wheels, I'd refurb the ones you have instead of getting 182 wheels. Can't beat a nice fresh set of 172 alloys, plus 182 wheels look odd on 172s.

I'd then go down the route of a cup spoiler.

Looks like a good buy anyway. What's the details on it? Mileage and history etc?

Thanks a lot :)

Yeah it definetlly needs a splitter, I am watching one on eBay ATM! I think I will do just that with the wheels, keep it looking fresh and smart.

Has f**k all history, minus a few receipts it has. 82k miles, checked with MOT history etc and it all adds up. But I still only paid £800, I knew it was never gonna be a minter and it's far from it, but that's why I bought it. Wanted a little project I can tinker with, which wont cos the earth. It's just a cheap weekend toy tbh.

Small plates do look good though! Whats the legalities of it? Ha

In that case, with no history get it booked in for the belts doing ASAP with a specialist from here. It could be a ticking time bomb if not.

Other than that, seems like a good buy.

Not sure the plates are 100% legal but the majority of people on here run them daily!

are you from South Devon ? I have seen those woods before lol

Haha no! They where in Staplehurst/Kent.

^^^ +1
Sometimes its the small things that count,
maybe get some yellow fogs? lamin-x

That's an interesting idea, never seen yellow fogs! Have you got any pics? I agree with small things make a massive difference!

Yeah I already have some quotes off of diamond motors, for both belts and dephaser, I'm treating it as worse case scenario! So I will drive up to their when im paid and get it done, I don't use the car at the moment anyway!

Wise move. Mick at Diamond has a really good rep on here, he'll sort you out!
