172 Manifold to Cat join - Help

Hi All

any tips for undoing the sping loaded bolts?

going in from the engine, seems the one side is rounding off and we cant get a socket to grip.

PITA to do - any other suggestions for undoing the bolts?

Cut them off and buy a new fitting kit from Renault.
I've had to do this both times I've done the job.

I used a friend's Dremel with a small cutting disc to cut the bolt in the middle, where you can see it between the clamp.

never even thought of a dremel.....

If they're scabby, cut them off.

Buzz gun with a 1/4" attachment notmally does the trick.

Also put some copper grease on the new fixings to make life easier if/when you have to undo this joint in future.

Yeah was going to copper grease after

just need to search for my dremel - not seen it since i moved house lol
