172 or 182?

Can't see insurance being much different, I'd do some quotes just to make sure.

I'd personally go for a 182 if you have the cash.

Do you want two exhausts or one? lol 182 is what you'll end up getting. 172 is what I'd buy (I have)

I got my mint 182 for £3500 a few weeks ago with 73000 miles on the clock, my dad's a mechanic and we've checked it over and it's been very well looked over and the engine runs like new. So Id' say go and find a mint 182, even if it's higher mileage if it's been looked after it'll be fine, I tested a few lower mileage ones that rattled loudly on tick over, mines smooth and silent. I'd say take your time and find a 182, it's worth it for the few extras IMO

that 172 is 2002 and 56k miles, i recently bought a 182 for £1000 more but its 2004 and 24k miles. just had cambelt done at renault. keep looking. get a decnt 182 for that money. 3k gets you a decent 172

I bought my Monaco 172 a few months ago for £2800!
Good clean car, all I've done is belts and track rod ends, but both because I'm over cautious!
I do the belts everytime I buy a car. The Clio was the first car I haven't done myself thou!
I love my car, I wasn't a massive fan of the twin exhausts to start with, but now I love them!
If you can afford a nice 182, go for it!

I beat that! Monaco 172 completely standard fsh inc cambelt, 4 brand new alloys + steering wheel (guy was so anal about his cars) paid £2000 off ebay. :rasp: 7 months ago!

I thought mine was cheap, but that's mental mate! Good buy!!
You had his pants down!
Bodywork good?

Just shows if you wait around and look you can get a bargain!!

Ha yeah, body work is OK few marks on bumpers, and a very very small scuff on the rear arch, but nothing for an 02 car tbh.

And wait around?! I'd never even considered a 172 before and brought it with little to no knowledge about the car at all! Impulse, went on the genuine add, good feedback and messages back and forth from the buyer. :rasp: Was helped by the fact the car was about 2 miles away from my house!

Monaco ftw though ey, Dan. :approve:

Nothing in it, buy the best one you can for the money you have! Id rather a refreshed and cared for 172 than a low mile 182 thats had an owner with out a clue!
