172 Problems

I'm condsidering a 172 as next car, but can only afford a ph1 172. £3-4k for 6/7 yr old car with between 50-80k miles. What are the likely probs/costs that I might get if I buy one?

Already have an 98 RT and not spent loads on it, its been pretty good, only couple small niggles, but will an RS start to get unreliable at this age/mileage?

Check for cambelt, exhaust are crap, made from straws and wheel bearings. From my experience.
