172 rear brakes failing?

my 172 failed its mot yesterday, said that there was no reading on the rear brakes. so got it home screwed out the pistons tightend my handbrake and took it back. still no response!! any one else had this prob?

had this on my cup, we stripped and rebuilt the caliper and iy only just passed :S

Is it a cup?

Is the load sensing valve stuck? That could alter the amount of braking to the rear brakes.
