172 Stelye rear spoiler

I fitted a new 172 style rear spoiler on my Privilege (1.6) on Friday. For estetics its very pleasing to the eye, but the question is - will it influence the handling of the car at all? I havent taken it out on the road yet - was just wondering.

Spoilers are literally for show mate, nowt else. Even rally cars dont get to go fast enough in a straight line to benefit from the wacky spoilers they put on them. If you are doing 150+MPH the spoiler may help to hold the arse of the car to the floor.

Many of the larger spoilers create a fair bit of drag - and can have the opposite effect of that intended (i.e. to improve drag/handling)! I wouldnt have thought that a small-ish genuine Renault one would have a negative effect. But it certainly wont make any perceivable difference!

Thx guys - but it does make the car look better from the back, even if its not immediately noticeable - Im happy!
