  330i. E30 Touring.
Not crankshaft sensor.

Crank sensor.

On top of the gearbox where it meets the block. Held on by 2x 10mm bolts.

Airbox out and it's visible on the block just below the thermostat housing it's got a curved bracket and is held on with a bolt (10mm head iirc) either end. Not hard just a bit of a faff due to it's location.

would this also cause the revs to be a bit random too, noticed this evening that the revs would be a bit higher at idle but a blip would settle it back down to normal.

called the dealer to order in, they have said there is a new loom and plug that needs splicing into the car.

anyone know when this new plug came in and how i check if i already have it on the car as it will save alot of time and money if i just need the sensor and noth both.

cheers

if i need the loom is this a plug in item, or do you need to splice the new piece into teh existing loom?
is it easy or one for a garage?

I believe you need to solder the new piece of loom in, but my engine already had it fitted when i got it. It's only a small job for a garage if you're not technically minded.
This is what the new sensor looks like. This is a genuine one i got from renault 2 weeks ago.
