172Cup Bump Strips

Car  172 Cup
Mine have got polish marks and on, they don't seem to clean up very well either.

Is there a cleaner to use on these? or would getting them sprayed and laquered be a better option?

peanut butter

What this man says, although make sure its smooth type.

I believe some form of Linseed oil helps too (its the oils in peanut butter that help get rid of the polish marks) but most people have peanut butter in the house and if not aa trip to Tesco or similar and £1 and jobs a gooden.

what type of polishing marks are we talking about?

white residue? if so as above
or are the physical marks in the paint?

Quick point, as Dave has pointed out, worth asking/know what Cup side strips are made of/covered in. They are unlacquered/matt lacquered. So you might find they're actually damaged, not just "polished up".

Most people get them resprayed and lacquered properly.
