182 / 172 Headlights on a 172Cup

I love my Cup, but I really like the projector / HID style headlights.

Will the 172 / 182 FF headlights fit straight into my Cup? Do I need anything else?

  CLIO Iceberg 172
they fill fit but they will be illegal....
you need the auto leveling equipment and the washers, the auto leveling unit sits on the passanger rear wheel next to the damper, there is also a computor there that helps to tell the ecu to adjust the beam....

your loom might be a standard loom inwhich you might already have the plugs for it already sitting there you may just need the lights and the leveling unit....

but i could be wrong

Lol... here we go with the legality debate.

I have xenons on my Cup buddy, just swapped the lights over, plugs are the same. You need to take your front bumper off though.

straight swap as said...............legality ive never had a problem without levelling, passed mot fine

  In between cars....
The leveling bit will be if your towing or have passengers wont it? Come MOT time youll be doing neither....

clios aren't legally allowed to tow..... not sports anyway.......and i don't have passengers in the back anyway.........plus, if your cars lowered the auto leveling sensor dosent work properly anyway

Yup as said straight swap.

No real issues with them, as a technicality they require auto-levelling and washer jets but i dont recall anyone having issues with this come MOT time.

Just make sure you check the lights are not damaged when you buy them.

Dont be tempted by the HID kits as they often are just not suited for the retro fitting and can blind on-coming users.

Other alternative is possibly the projector lights sold by k-tec racing. I guess it depends the look you are after.

Good luck :)

Cheers Has. I want to keep it standard looking, so I think the 172/182 lights will best suit.

I assume the 172/182 FF lights are the same too.

No worries mate.

Yes the 172 & 182 lights are the same bar the colour of the insert around the light.

The 172s had a darkish black surround and the 182s came with a mid grey colour. there is also a very light grey surround (not many about, but have cropped past them a few times). That is the only differences between them.

They all work the same.

HID Bulb
Starter Pack
Ballast
Levelling Motor.

Just make sure the clips are not damaged for the motor or the lights will be mis-aligned and face down.
