182/182 CUP HELP Whats main difference

Hi guys, if your mate asked you how much different is the 182 Vs the 182Cup what is the answer?? Also, what is the price difference between them?? (roughly, as I know they vary in price between dealers)

I should know this, but not looked into it. Performance difference? What bits are standard on both cars? Does the Cup still have the option of Abs? Air Con?

How good really is the 182?? or 182 Cup?? Hes just sold his Focus RS as hes brought a house and cutting costs, and just wants to buy a brand new smaller fun motor that can still keep up with the faster stuff on the road! Thought this would fit the bill!!

What are people finding they can compare there 182 performance to other cars they have raced?

Ill pass all this info to him,

Thanks guys.

There isnt really a 182 Cup

Its basically a normal 182, but you can add some Cup options.

For £150 you can get the larger cup spoiler, and front splitter.

And for a further £200 you can get the Cup suspension kit. Which improves handling.

My definition of a cup, is a stripped out car. The 182 with cup options still has all the goodies.

What is included in the Cup suspension pack though..i thought the wheels had a differing ET for a wider track etc? Or are the hubs different?

Taken from the Official Renault Press release

The new Clio Renaultsport 182 also offers the options of a Cup chassis upgrade and a Cup spoiler pack. The Cup chassis option, costing £200, adds Michelin Exalto 2 tyres with stiffer sidewalls, a 3mm lower ride height, stiffer springs and dampers and new steering geometry plus Anthracite colour wheels.

The front track is 20mm wider and the rear track is 10mm wider improving the cars’ stance on the road and improving the road holding. With higher spring rates at the front, the Cup suspension is firmer and provides more responsive behaviour. These modifications are complemented by the adoption of tyres of an extra-stiff structure. Steering response is thus more direct, with a more incisive front suspension. Also enhancing driving efficiency are the flexible lower leaf of the front bumper, and the larger rear hatch-mounted spoiler, providing greater downforce and aerodynamic refinement.

Thanks, 182 with the Cup options sounds good! Cheers.

How will it compare with his standard Focus RS do u guys think?

Paper figures and actual road results vary, so interested in feedback from people that own the 182? and been in an RS?

Is there much of a waiting time from a UK main dealer do u know?

Cheers.

Waiting time is about 8-12 weeks from a dealer. Unless you can find one with stock.

Cup suspension and spoiler kits are recommended, they are only £350 combined and when you are spending 13k+ its not much in comparison.

I think the Focus RS will be quicker in a straight line. Might be wrong though.

0 - 60 the FRS and 182 arent that far apart, but 0 - 100 the Focus is considerably quicker. AFAIK.

Id still rather have the FRS to be honest. But I do love my 182 and theres nothing in the same price bracket Id rather have.

Is there much between the 172 and the 182 then as u still keep all the goodies in both? Does the 10bhp make it noticeably faster?
