182 cat question

do all 182 cats sit fairly low to the floor. because now mines lowered it catches slightly on certain speed bumps and multi story car parks. is there any way is raising it.

Yeah they do, the centre mount is crap. You could try tightening this up or replacing it but ultimately I believe it will always hang at a dodgy angle.

They "sag" along with the rest of the exhaust.

1) To resolve this - replace the rubber hanger near it (wears like the others quickly)

2) Loosen entire exhaust system

3) Support cat with a trolly jack, lift up to desired level (ie, parallel to car)

4) Re-tighten all exhaust clamps and it should sit fairly high

5) Lower jack and itl come down a bit but not much.


Never had any issue with mine after that. The lowest part now is the exhaust clamp!

Yup hanger from Renault. Few quid for this one. not much.

Should have no problem raising it.

If its sitting that low, somethings up!! (well down )
