182 CUP HAS ARRIVED

  182cup

JUST BEEN DOWN TO EXETER RENAULT TO SIGN SOME PAPER WORK, CAR HAS JUST ARRIVED THIS AFTERNOON LOOKS BETTER THAN I THOGHT IT WOULD JUST COVERED IN BIRDS SH!T, IT HAS THE CUP BADGES ON IT, SPLITTER IN BACK SEAT I WONDER IF IT WILL BE FITTED ON FRIDAY WHEN PICKED UP. ALSO PAID £20 EXTRA FOR EXECUTIVE MATS INSTEAD OF THE CRAP CORD LOOK ONES HE CHUCKED INTO THE DEAL. REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO FRIDAY

Well done mate youll love it, and ignore any comments about it being cheap, apart from the seats its near identical and the wheel is smaller. Glad to see you got the Cup badges....getting mine fitted real soon along with the splitter lol.

BTW rag it from new IMO as long as its warmed up. Mines just done the 1000 large, and its running like a slut

Nice one :D

Dont be wondering if they are going to fit the splitter or not, ring the dealer and ask.Im sure it will be but if not then insist its fitted before collection, dont wait until you pick it up to be dissapointed.Enjoy pick up day and have fun !

Thats what cracks me up about Renault, you give them £12000 for a new car and they charge you £20 for a set of decent mats.

What a bunch of complete ****ing a** holes.

Toyota gave my bro free top quality mats on his base model Yaris. He merely enquired as to whether they had any and they offered them for free with no prompting.

In the past Ford,Citroen and Vauxhall have all tried to charge for mats so its not just Renault. Most will try to charge from my experience and not just Renault.I have never paid though, they are hardly going to loose the sale of a new car for the sake of a set of mats.

Mats should be standard on all cars from entry models right up to top of the range IMO

no 182 cup does not come with mats but agree any new car should. im sure the splitter will be fitted as the car is in there body shop awaiting pdi and prep.

Im quickly realising there is some hatred for any Cup on this site.
you are getting exactly what i did when i got my 172 cup

i wouldnt count on it! Many renault dealers believe its suppose to go on the back seat not on the front of the car.;)

Doesnt bother me mate, I just find it a bit sad in a Cliosport club to be frank.

LOL nah Tom, I wasnt really refering to what you said at all...more just a general vibe on these forums about the 182Cup being cheap ass. Each to their onw of course, its just that you dont generally see Cup drivers patting themselves on the back for having the quicker car, like you do 182 owners congratulating themselves for having some nice seats.

Actually as I posted that I realised its probably going to spark off more pointless debate that this thread doesnt need. The thread is about mark enjoying his new car and lets hpe he does (y)

lol, I agree with you to be honest. Something about the Cup i like, bit more focussed if that makes sense.

Although after seeing a black cup packed 182 today, be a tough choice for me! :)

Tom

Oh yeah, and mark... you have a cracking car there, enjoy it! :D

Thats probably because you paid top dollar. Mark.cup might have to pay £20 for mats but it might have been beause he drove a hard bargain. ;-)

We are talking the difference between a Yarishole and Cup?

  182cup

thanks for most of the response, the car is racing blue and looks awesome even covered in crap. Roy i no what you mean about all the 182 cheap comments, i could have gone full fat if i wanted but i dont like leather i can turn my own lights/wipers on, also might just handle using aircon. these cars arent much heavier than 172 cups but include aircon abs and more power. both cars are the smuts nuts and i thought all this bitchin from so called fellow renault fans goes against the idea of the site.

Mark you must feel like a kid at christmas waiting for tomorrow! I think we all know the feeling. So far the novelty isnt wearing off for me at all - Im actually loving the car more and more with each day that passes.

By the way guys, not wanting to argue between cars, but is it possible the exhaust note of the Cup might be slightly more thrilling inside the car, given the paper rear bench? I know mine gives me a hard-on every time I nail it through the gears

Also mashed the limiter by accident in 2nd, 3rd & 4th today (on my private race track)...the engine is so much loser than it was a couple of weeks back, it just gets more free revving every day

  MKIII 138

No xenons, no climate, no headlamp washers, two airbags removed, no leather, light rear bench is more than 20kgs. My 172MKII spaer + kit weighed 20kgs so i can forsee it being closer to 30kgs. The aftermarket recaros are the finishing touch in order to get a close to 172Cup weight without effecting Insurance classification IMO.

for my money even if the 182 is an allround better day to day car the 182cup IS Faster and most probably shaper to drive.

make sure you get the original mats too, these are very expensive aftermarket items, you wouldnt want them selling them for a profit now would you?

Liam

Roy i think in about 6 months youll have sucessfully blown that car up.

Nah I think its been designed to be driven hard mate. I never ever give it death from cold, but have driven it hard from new, and its running in to be a right sl*g, not an oil drinking pussy wagon
:)
