182 deals ... not

I paid a visit to the Renault dealer in Kettering, after seeing that they had a silver 182 and an arctic blue 182 on their website. I only really wanted to take a look at which colour looked best - you know, side-by-side. Anyway, we get there, and the silver ones gone. The blue ones in the showroom, unregistered, looks lovely. The salesman wanders over, and his eyes light up when I say I want a cash deal. "Its the end of the month," he says, "we can do a fabulous deal." Okay, I says, whats your best price. Ten minutes later, he wanders back - "If you sign now, I can do that blue one for £14,129. A saving of £1,400!" I told him what he could do with his fantastic offer. I mentioned that I could get them for £12,000 elsewhere. He argued that wasnt possible. I shook his hand, told him he had my number, and if he came up with a better deal before the end of the month, Id buy ... anyway, I get home, and I check the website again ... the arctic blue is only advertised on there for £13,995?! The cheeky toe-rag tried to sell it to me for more than £130 more?!

Renault dealers - bunch of charlatans.

  Yaris Hybrid

My bro went to buy a 1.2 Clio and they wouldnt even knock £50 off the price which is a piss take given that its a prehistoric design and poorly built. My bro pointed that out and the salesman said he couldnt argue about that point but still wouldnt knock a penny off!

My bro then went to Toyota and enquired about a Yaris (far superior car) and he barely had to negotiate as the salesman couldnt knock enough money off or throw enough extras in!

Renault dealers really are the pits.

Walk in there with a £12k bankers draft and I reckon youll get it.

Shame that money laundering rules mean you cant wave that amount of actual cash as an offer these days....

The best price reg vardy renault would offer me without cup bits was in the £13k bracket. I told them up front i could switch for it there and then, but he simply refused to match £12500 i was offered down south with cup bits.

I had the smuggest look on my face when i drove up to the dealership to get the passenger door lock fixed. He said "oh ... so you bought one?! ..".

"yep".

Best price I got locally on a 182 Cup with Recaros for my mate was £12,150 - anywhere I could get better? anyone want to be my f&f?!
